QuestionHi Dr. George Tsatsos,
In August I fractured my fifth metatarsal bone and after the cast was removed I noticed that 3 of my toes weren't curling like they're supposed to. The doctor told me it was because of the inflammation. Now it has been two months since this incident happened and there isn't any inflammation and my toes are still acting the same. I guess when my bone fractured it messed up the ligaments in my toes somehow. When I try to take a normal step, the area where my toes are supposed to bend hurts and the outer region of my big toe gets sensitive and painful, which results in me limping. My question is, will physical therapy help me? Is there any at-home remedies that I can do to make them bend normally? I don't know if it'll help in anything, but when I fractured my foot, I felt the pain mostly in the area where my toes are supposed to bend and not by my fifth metatarsal (isn't that weird?). Thanks in advance for your help.

Go seek a second opinion. You may have suffered an additional injury. The symptoms you describe do not seem normal for 2 months after fifth metatarsal fracture.
Hope this Helps & Good Luck!
