Questionhi sharon, i am writing to you because i had both my hips replaced, over a year ago, the problem is after i stopped taking pain medication and went back to work i started to experiance terrible pain build up in my feet, i would literally go to bed with my feet in pain like a burning throbbing and when i wake up it will still be noticable, then i start my day and within an hour of being on my feet it starts all over again, the pain becomes unbearable and feels like im walking on my knuckles except on my feet if that makes any sense, it gets so bad i get all hunched up and feel like i haev to fight my way though the day, i become very impatient, i cant concentrate i become snappy and even aggressive. i have now had to start taking pain killers again and have had orthopedic examinations, the doctors cant find any problems with the nerves or the bones in my feet just my calves seem a bit tense.
this is driving me crazy as i dont want to be using pain meds but i cant make it through the day without them, i dont know what to do i am really desperate.
oh yeah my original problem was avascular necrosis since i was 21 yeaars old, im now 32 years old.
AnswerGlad I could help and thank you for your nice feedback.
The one thing I have to add, is that you should not feel badly if you have to take pain meds until you get a diagnosis. I have also had nerve damage and it's a hard pain to bear. If it is nerve damage giving you the problem, it can last a long time, and you should not feel badly that you have to take meds for pain. It's been proven time and time again, that people who get hooked on pain meds are NOT addicts. So please let your mind rest at ease.
