i am getting an implant but first i have to have a hip graft.. i don't know what the pros and cons about the hip graft are can you tell me ? what happens i have the surgery is my hip going to be fine?

Hi Kris,

Your hip will be sore for awhile, about 2 weeks, they need the bone from there to put it where the implant is going. This is  taken from an area were you don't need it so it won't have any long term effects functionally. However, there will be a scar, that can be minimized with an OTC paste called, "Scar Gaurd". Make sure you are on antibiotics before surgery and don't shave, plus wash with pre-op soap at walgreens for 3 days before Sx, this MRSA stuff is getting nasty and can be a difficult to impossible infection to treat.
