QuestionHello,
I'm a durable man who is average height and healthy weight (30 years old, 5'8.5" 160lb). Outside of exercise soreness and a few sprained feet/ankles.. no injuries since childhood. I have a white-collar job.
I've taken a liking to a recumbent bicycle that my wife often uses... in an effort to shed about 5 pounds and start a habitual cardio routine of some kind through the winter.
I usually go 45-60 minutes low-to-moderate effort. Today, I decided to go longer. Right at 70 minutes, I started noticing a squishy sound in my left (non-dominant knee) when pedaling. Absolutely no pain.
Before this, I have gotten random momentary twitches of discomfort in this knee and some cracking when not exercising, but no real pain. I do have some swelling above the kneecap, on the inside of my leg. Still no pain.
I am afraid to put weight on it, but it feels strong and does not hurt. I have been icing, taking aspirin as a precaution.
Should I be concerned?
