Questionindex finger bend
pinky joint
QUESTION: I have no pain in my fingers, but I notice that my index fingers are slightly crooked turning towards middle finger, and my left pinky finger joint is bigger than the right. Does this indicate a problem or just normal variances? I'm a 35 year old female.
ANSWER: Dear Andrea,
This Orthopedic Chicago Podiatrist located in West Loop 60661, Roscoe Village 60618, Ukrainian Village 60622, Elmhurst 60126 & Bartlett 60103 says,
These are the beginnings of arthritis in the finger joints. As long as your hands are pain free & dexterous, it's part of the normal aging process. If it starts to hurt, swell, or become red--then seek professional opinion-since it may be arthritis that does better with treatment.
Hope this helps & Good Luck!
