QuestionI am a 44 female who had hip dysplasia as a child. I had two surgeries to correct this. When I was 24 I had a hip replacement. This last year it came loose, I had a right revision done in April 2007. Due to impingement, I had it redone again in July of 2007, they replaced the ball and cleaned out the scar tissue, also put in a longer stem. I again am having problems with impingement of the iliopsoas
muscle. They believe the problem is because of the oversized cup they had to put in to get a great fit. Is this common? The doctors are talking about cutting the tendon and it will reattach itself. Yikes, is this not a important muscle? They said they will see when they get in what route they go? I am a little nervous about cutting tendons. Do you have any advice? I just found out today and I am scheduled for surgery in two days. Probably just a little nerves as this is my third surgery in one year. Thanks..
