QuestionEvery time I do a squat/bend my knee, the muscle at the side of my knee pops laterally, like its sliding over the head of my fibula. I was wondering what is going on and what muscles are generally involved. It seems like its the muscle that is connected to my IT band and runs near the head of my fibula. Thanks in advance!

For your IT band running Pain. It is probably an inflamed IT band that you are probably feeling. The vastus lateralus muscle from the upper leg & the peroneal longus from the lower leg also insert in that area & may become irritated.
Hope this helps & Good Luck!
