I had total hip replace 7-08. I am having trouble with the large muscle that runs down to my knee and I still need a cane. I have done my home exercises as directed. Do I need to see a physical therapist? I also feel like I have a football size lump at the incision site and lower.

I would suggest making an appointment with your surgeon so he can take a look at your range of motion and ascertain if you are healing correctly.  Also have him look at the lump.  Lumps and bumps near the surgical site are common, but the size of the lump you say you have, is very large.

It may be that you have built up some scar tissue, but the doctor who did the surgery is the best one to address your concerns.
