QuestionMy mother (86) had hip surgery 2 months ago. She still has
pain in hip and groin. How does her surgeon determine that the surgery was successful?
Thanks

The surgeon will check to see if the hip is stable by X rays. Her pain may be due to the fact that her muscles have been cut to allow for placement of the hip prosthesis and that takes time to heal.
Make sure her surgeon knows of the pain and is giving her PT to strengthen the muscles.
