QuestionI'm an 18 year old female in the Marine Corps, about a week and a half ago, i had surgery for a fractured hip, I fractured 75% of my femoral neck, and i recieved 3 pins in my left hip. It hasn't been long after surgery and i can all ready walk on it pain free, with only a little limp and this is without my cruthes. Is this normal? Even though I can walk on it, should i still continue to use my crutches for 4 more weeks? Is this going to bother me for a lifetime and give me problems later, or? Do you know if i can still do my very rigorous training? I still have a 10 mile hump, and the weight is approximatly 80 lbs, i'm 5'2, but do you think i'd still be able to do this even after the surgery?

If you are in pain I would suggest using the crutches. You may do more damage by not using them.
As far as your limp, this may be due to a leg length difference, muscle atrophy or just that you need more time healing. Your surgery was major and after only a week and a half of healing, I'd say that you need to ease up a little on the activity and give yourself time to heal.
Not giving yourself enough healing time can cause further damage,
If you have further concerns, plaese see your surgeon.
