Answer
Hi Purushotham,

Its not unusual after a surgery involving the hip that you may have some pain that has developed elsewhere when walking or standing for prolonged periods of time.

It generally is in your gait or walking mechanics that is causing the problem. It also can be caused if you have not fully recovered from the surgery and there is still some weakness involved around the hip.
This will also cause you to change your gait pattern and cause some other area of the lower extremity to bear more stress then usual when walking.

You may want to first look into the the leg length discrepancy and if needed get a lift of some kind in the shoe where you have the 5cm difference.

With the differences in leg length it will cause problems with either your knees or could cause a problem with your back later on.

You may want to check with your surgeon about that as you can get a lift that you can easily put in and take out of your shoes as needed.
