Question
I will be having bi lateral hip replacement surgery and wanted to know if it would be beneficial to purchase a hip chair.  I have a cushion from a medical store to put on the wing chair in my family room, but I am not sure if that will be suffient support in the early weeks after surgery. They are expensive, so I wanted an honest opinion.

I don't believe you need to buy the chair.  I have never used one and I've had many surgeries.  It would be beneficial if you had a chair that was high, or a firm pillow to put on a kitchen chair.  Sitting on a low chair is not good

You might also look into renting a hip chair rather than buying one.
