QuestionX-ray of knee of 81 year old athletic male was read as "heavily arthritic" although there was no pain, stiffness or restriction of motion or function. Can this be likely?
Thanks!

Dear Mike,
Regarding your arthritis on x-ray of knee question. X-rays are diagnostic tools. Arthritis on X-ray can show as decrease of cartilage space (thinning of cartilage) or spurs(growth of extra bone).
The fact that it shows arthritis is normal for an 81 year old.
The fact that you can move the knee pain free is amazing-but possible.
Exercise can slow arthritis and can help you live with it.
Hope This Helps
