Question
Hello doctor,

I've been using an adjustable hand griper for a week, then i noticed my right hand middle finger is slightly crooked at the top and it happened to my left pinky finger as well.

So i stopped using it for a few days, later i use it again i noticed my middle finger is crooked again n it worse than before. It slightly bent sideways toward ring finger at the top.

Here's the hand gripper i'm using it,it can switch from 10-40kg strength.

In the beginning i
using it 10kg and got no problem at all. After that i switched to max and i close it with full force, plus my middle finger use the most strength in it and it had little pain when i closing it.

May i know what's the reason causes my middle finger crooked at top?Is it because the design of this gripper are not suitable for my hands? My fingers have no problems on grabbing heavy dumbbell and doing any lifting.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

This Chicago, South Loop & Elmhurst Orthopedic Podiatrist of AnklenfootCenters.com says.......

Dear Matt,
For your crooked finger.Perhaps you have strained/torn the extensor tendons that control the straightness of the finger. If they remain crooked-then additional concerns should be directed to your orthopedist. The fingers may need to be splinted in their corrected position to heal. Do not wait if they are still crooked.
Hope This Helps!
and
Good Luck!
