QuestionHello DR. Joe,
Sorry for my bad English. My name is Ori and I am 20 years old.
I have trained for a year. Than I stopped for 5 months and when I wanted to try back and train like before I couldn't.
I am feeling pain when I do push-ups in my elbow. Its like my tendon moves upward and down. Or when I lifting dumbbells or do some chest press. I cant work out now because of that pain. In rest my elbow doesn't heart at all. I had taken tablets anti-infection for a week and it didn't helped me.
What are you think it is?
AnswerSounds like lateral epicondylitis,a type of tendonitis to outside bone in elbow. There is no cure per se because it is caused by useage. Try Ice 3 x day x 10 mins then moist heat x 5 mins. Do range of motion exercises.Apply OTC biofreeze or get a Rx of topical nsaid cream from a provider. If that doesnt help may try cortisone injection and physical therapy..sometimes elbow straps for tennis elbow may help
