Question
I have shoulder problems.  Had surgery and it didn't help.  Am going to a new shoulder dr.

How should I choose a dr?  I have an interest in a couple but they are very young.  They both did their shoulder surgery fellowships in 2011.  However, they work in excellent hospitals and have an excellent educational backround.

Would you feel comfortable being seen and possibly operated on by a young surgeon or would you prefer a more experienced dr?

Answer
Dear Jim,

This Orthopedic Chicago Podiatrist located in West Loop 60661,Roscoe Village 60618, Elmhurst 60126 & Bartlett 60103 says...
There is no problem with a young surgeon-especially if they did a Fellowship( probably did several hundred cases---ask). I would be very specific in your questions: to ask what went wrong, what will you do to fix this problem and what could go wrong this time-and what the surgeon would do to. Do not be afraid to ask specific questions. If all your questions are answered in language you understand-then that is a good sign.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck!
