However, like any other pregnancy symptoms, back pain is definitely controllable without mothers needing to use pain killers that are harmful for their baby. Follow this advice to control back pain in pregnancy.

Breathing workouts should be done if moms are starting to feel like back pain is impending or if it is currently taking place. Besides providing better flow in breathing, breathing workouts also provide soothing and calming effects in your body that makes moms overlook the back pain.

Poor breathing can make chronic pain worse. Breathing workouts bring vitality to every call in the body. Many people are chroniclly poor breathers. Doing breathing workouts can make you feel good largely because so many breathe so poorly that any progress in the amount of oxygen feels significant.

Doing diversionary activities also helps moms forget the back pain that's caused by their pregnancy. These types of diversionary activities consist of reading books and preparing activities which all the family can do after getting pregnant. Watching fun filled and happy ending films and shows that help brighten feelings.

Mothers must also check out different positions when it comes to lying down or sitting up to find the one that they find the most comfortable and search for the one that produces minimal amount of back pain. This method is proven to be effective by many. However, mothers should not expect that the most comfy and painless position could be the best position for them throughout their pregnancy. It also varies and changes from week to week or from month to month.

Some activities can make the pain worse. Too much standing or walking, carrying a full bag of groceries, climbing stairs, turning over in bed, intercourse, bending forward and driving too much.

Applying liniments can also be the best way to lessen the amount of back pain caused by a pregnancy. Although it doesn't have a direct therapeutic effect, it produces a kind of 'placebo effect' in some mothers. Also, there are some mothers who find the scent of liniments to be extra soothing and relaxing thus diverting their minds from back pain because of pregnancy.
