Chronic Low Back Pain...Is Spinal Decompression the Answer?

Suffering from chronic low back pain? You definitely are not alone. And like most you have no doubt tried a variety of treatments.

An important thing to understand is that in the majority of cases the spinal discs are to blame. Research shows that the disc is the most common cause of back pain followed by the facet joints and the SI joint.

Many people who experience low back pain can't recall what they did to hurt themselves. This is because the disc is only pain sensitive in the outer 1/3. So as the inner portion of the disc migrates outwards no pain is felt, until the outer pain sensitive zone is contacted. Then pain can come on very quickly and seemingly without cause.

The disc is very susceptible to dehydration and degeneration primarily because if it's lack of a direct blood supply. It receives it's vital nutrients and hydration from the bones above and below where a rich blood supply is present. Once the disc becomes damaged the disc loses it's ability to maintain hydration and it becomes dry and much more likely to deteriorate.

Recent research also show that once a disc becomes degenerative it's lack of hydration actually allows an infiltration of pain sensitive nerves. So once the disc is painful, the entire disc becomes pain sensitive.

The most common treatments for low back pain don't address this issue. Only one actually increases the amount of hydration into the disc and that is spinal decompression. This treatment accelerates the amount of hydration that goes into the disc so that the disc can regenerate.

Muscle contraction response is a common problem when applying any type of traction force to the spine, however the technology known as spinal decompression has a patented computer technology that allows it to overcome contraction of these muscles in real time. This allows a true spinal decompression effect to take place.

The benefits of spinal decompression are very effective for disc health. First the negative pressure created helps to draw in any bulging or herniated material that my be compressing or irritating the nerves and secondly it actively creates a fluid exchange bringing in fresh oxygen and nutrition into the disc so it can heal.

Treating the primary source of back pain is what makes spinal decompression unique, other treatments try to mask the pain and never create a structural benefit.

If you have tried other treatments with little to no success you really owe it to yourself to look into spinal decompression. The benefits are lasting unlike most of the other treatments available.
