In developed countries back pain is a frequent complaint doctors hear about more often. The main cause for this pain is work absenteeism. The pain must be treated in the early stages by aggressive methods by the psychiatrist which will result in quicker recovery. The science is still uncertain as to which one is the main cause for this condition as the causes of back pain are many.

It is the most dangerous and costly condition after heart attack and cancer. The most common cases are generally mechanical which is caused by ligament strain, muscle strain and disc degeneration. The problem with the kidneys can also cause this condition. Sciatica results in a situation where the protruding disc is exerting pressure on spinal nerve. This is a condition which causes pain anywhere in the back till lower back from neck. It mostly results due to overuse of muscles in the back.

The most common causes of back pain are accidents and injuries. During a sports event a sports person might have had an injury to the back. During the later stages this may result in extreme pain. This problem can also be linked with the hip joint or musculature sometimes.

Arthritis, fracture, bony malalignment and disc problems causes this problem most of the time. To diagnose back pain it is very difficult. The conventional imaging procedures can detect only 5 percent of the cases and so it can be diagnosed based on what patients tell doctors about the condition.

The main causes of back pain are bad postures. Abnormal sitting and standing postures account for back pain. Sitting for a long time in front of computer may exert pressure on the back muscles. This will result in intense pain.

To change the sitting posture every 30 minutes is the best remedy for this. Small walks in between every break session is also advisable. You have to make sure to keep your back straight if your job requires you to stand for a long time otherwise you may put pressure on your lower back. It is also very important to consider shoulder posture.
