In a herniated disk, the nucleus tissue which is
located in the center of the disk normally, is forced out of position.
If the disc moves in any direction except the direction in which the
nerves are, the pain is minimal. But, the spinal canal into which the
movement takes place has limited space, hence the herniated disc is
pressed against the spinal nerves.
This results in the symptoms of
numbness, pain or weakness in the lower back or leg. The herniated disc

Nonsteroidal
anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are taken for relieving back pain. But,
if the pain is truly severe, your physician may prescribe medicines for
back pain called narcotic painkillers, like codeine. Exercises for back

Although there is no definitive
cure, back and neck pain is a condition that can be treated with the
