The problem of back pain is a perennial one and it can happen to people of any age though the middle aged and the older groups are more prone to these kinds of pains. The problems of back pain can further be classified into pain of the lower back, middle back and the upper back. It is usually the pain in the lower back which affects most people and the reason for the same is that part gets the most strain during wrong sitting and exercising postures and also because it is more prone to injuries due to its location. Thus you need to maintain a lot of caution during lifting weights or sitting at work because you may be unknowingly letting yourself to more back problems.

Even though the back pain is generally not associated with an injury or illness, it can also go away without any medication. There are various kinds of painkillers that can be taken for these pains and these include Aspirin, Ibuprofen and acetaminophen. They have been proven to be useful in relieving back pain in initial stages.

There are also the options of applying a cold pack on the affected area in the first 24-48 hours. Hot packs and cold packs can also be given alternatively and the other forms of remedies also include various kinds of massages. It has been seen that the people suffering from back pain should avoid sudden turning or bending movements. Also bed rest is not recommended for people suffering from back pain and they should continue with regular routines a light exercises.

There are various other exercises like swimming and aqua aerobics, which help to exercise without hurting the back further. Most of the pain is generally felt in the lumbar and the sacral region but it also affects other areas and a sprain in the muscles of the spine can be the most common cause of backache and thus you need to implement caution for avoiding injuring these areas.
