If people suffer from lower back pains, they should try some regular exercises to easy away the pain instead of taking medication that may do bad things to their stomach lining and liver. Yoga is one of the oldest and well established forms of exercise and is the best at keeping people lithe, limber and flexible. One of the best positions for the back is the downward dog which stretches all the muscles in the back as well as the thighs and calves and shoulders and arms.
People need to begin on all fours, elbows and knees equal widths apart then they should begin to push up with their legs and then their arms until their body forms a triangle basically with their hips and waist as the apex and their arms and legs at the two ends, thus people need to hold the pose for a few seconds and then return to all fours and repeat a few times. Another good yoga exercise for the back pain is the triangle pose. People need to begin with their legs spread out to be in line with their shoulders. Then should tilt slightly to the side to bring their left palm in line with their knee and lift their right arm above their head with the palm facing their body. People should hold this pose for fifteen seconds or as long as it is comfortable for them and feel the stretch. They need to switch sides and repeat for a few times.
Another good exercise for the back and the posture is the tree pose. People need to begin this exercise standing straight then bring their left foot up to rest against their right knee, calf, or thigh whichever is the most comfortable for them, of course increasing the height of their foot every couple of times they exercise. Once people have achieved this pose they should bring their hands together in front of them palm to palm, with their elbows sticking straight out. This position stretches their back, their calf muscles, increases their balance and stretches their triceps.
Yoga exercise for back pain is a wonderful practice that increases the limberness and agility. These exercises effectively decrease back pain by building strength and flexibility in the muscles by stretching them and strengthens people mentally and physically. People should try yoga to alleviate their back pain before purchasing any expensive back exercise equipment or pain relief medications. Other exercises that help to reduce back pain and strengthen core muscles are the lumbar side stretch, hip flexor stretch, and calf stretches. Doing these exercises regularly can effectively help reduce the back pain.
To perform the hip flexor stretch, people need to get on their knees on the floor, bring their right foot in front of them and place it on the floor allowing their leg to make a 90 degree angle, and then need to place their hands on their right knee and lean forward, making sure to squeeze their glutes. After holding for a few seconds, people should switch legs. For the lumbar stretch, people need to stand with their feet shoulder width apart. With their right hand behind their head, should reach down with their left hand toward the inside of their right foot, then need to switch hands.
