Tens of thousands of people are laid low with back pain every year. For some, the lucky ones, it resolves within a few weeks with a judicious combination of exercises supplemented by painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs. But what of the rest?
Exercise is a very powerful aid for people looking for effective back pain treatment, that will have a much bigger benefit than pretty much everything else - including the best food, the hottest sex, and even the most exhilarating fun. The main drawback is that you have to actually do something for it to work.
Probably, like most people I know and talk to about back pain treatments, you already have too much to do. You can't find time for less than half an hour of stretching and strengthening exercises, not to mention the three quarters of an hour to sixty minutes, several times a week that are needed for the aerobic exercise requirement of a normal exercise program.
Here and now I'm going to help you make the time in your day - in some manner - because, again, sufferers who have experienced chronic back pain relief everywhere acknowledge that exercise will be more rewarding to you in the long run, for alleviating back pain for you, than a lot of other approaches you can try.
Let's start with the problem that you simply don't have enough time. Just imagine that just quarter of an hour a day to execute some low impact back strengthening and stretching exercises is probably even better than buying an insurance policy against the next time you'll have to take a few days sick leave because of your lower back pain?
If time is money, investing some time to protect your health by exercising, which costs you nothing, it will definitely pay for itself when it saves you what you would likely fork out to cover chiropractic, physiotherapy, acupuncture, and so on - when your back muscles next seize up and bring back that flood of excruciating back pain.
Don't think it can work? You've got so much going on that you're struggling to get a good nights sleep, and you're dog tired every day? There's your next reason to start exercising. As you'll see, exercise, particularly regular aerobic exercise, will make you feel great in no time flat. Instead of depleting your energy, as you might suppose, all forms of exercise actually boosts your energy levels.
Even though it burns up calories and helps you lose weight, it doesn't make you tired. On the contrary, exercise can make you feel much more alert, alive and energized - and as exercise helps improve your sleep patterns, you'll get a much deeper sleep from fewer sleeping hours.
