Psoriatic arthritis is a type of arthritis that often occurs with psoriasis of the skin, a condition that features red patches of skin topped with silvery scales. The main symptoms of PsA are joint pain, stiffness and swelling. It can affect any part of one’s body, and can range from relatively mild to severe. Like psoriasis, PsA may alternate between periods of intense flares and remission. There is no cure for PsA.
