The Fundamentals of Gout Natural Treatment

2. Drinking at least six pints of water. Do not let dehydration set in as this will reduce the effectiveness of the kidney thereby leading to uric acid build-up.

3. Eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and grains. Cherries and strawberries have scientific basis in the prevention of gout. Similarly, mangosteen has acid lowering effects aside from having anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant components.

4. Refraining from alcoholic beverages.

5. Maintaining a regular exercise. In this way, excess weight is avoided resulting to lower uric acid level in the blood.

6. Avoiding anchovies, crab, asparagus, fish roe (caviar), liver , herring, meat gravies, beans, peas, mussels, sardines and mushrooms.

Although there is no permanent cure for gout yet, medical science is trying to develop a safer and effective cure. Research includes the use of fish oil supplements and the better understanding of the occurrence of purines to prevent them from the formation of uric acid crystals resulting to gout.
