The Medical Establishment categorizes osteoporosis as a chronic “disease,” on par with diabetes, kidney disease, and arthritis, to name a few.
No wonder an osteoporosis diagnosis causes great fear and can even lead to depression!
But you shouldn’t take this conventional “wisdom” to heart. In fact, one of the main premises of the Save Our Bones Program is that osteoporosis is not a disease.
So why does the Establishment insist on calling it as such? That’s what you’re about to find out…
To understand how osteoporosis got categorized as a disease in the first place, it helps to understand the definition of “chronic disease.”
According to Mainstream Medicine, the criteria for a chronic disease (as distinguished from an acute disease) have to do with the time it takes for the problem to develop.
Here’s one definition:
“Acute conditions are severe and sudden in onset. This could describe anything from a broken bone to an asthma attack. A chronic condition, by contrast is a long-developing syndrome, such as osteoporosis or asthma. Note that osteoporosis, a chronic condition, may cause a broken bone, an acute condition.”1 (emphasis added)
Notice the term “syndrome” in the above definition. The use of this term also sheds light on this topic.
According to Merriam-Webster, a syndrome is,
“…a disease or disorder that involves a particular group of signs and symptoms.”2
A “syndrome,” then, is a type of disease, according to the mainstream medical definition.
But osteoporosis is neither a syndrome nor a disease.
The psychological and emotional impact of fear, worry, and depression can have a profound impact on your physiological health. This is why it is so crucial to stop thinking of osteoporosis as a chronic disease.
In fact, research shows that depression can play a role in the development of chronic illnesses like diabetes and coronary heart disease, and can negatively influence the outcome of these diseases.3
And the effect is cyclical – chronic illnesses increase the risk of depression:
“Patients with chronic medical illnesses have been found to have two- to threefold higher rates of major depression compared with age- and gender-matched primary care patients.”3
When you have a chronic disease – or think you do – it sets the stage for negative feelings that lead to depression; and depression influences your bone health by raising levels of bone-damaging noradrenaline and affecting your overall sense of well-being.
The Establishment’s insistence that osteoporosis means you are terribly sick with a chronic disease can cause you to “take ownership” of the condition as something debilitating and basically incurable.
In stark contrast, the Save Our Bones Program emphasizes “disowning” the disease label and taking positive action to build your bones. In Chapter 1, you get step-by-step instructions on how to do just that.
Given the negative effects of a “disease mentality,” and the fact that osteoporosis can be reversed with diet and lifestyle changes, it may seem odd that the Medical Establishment would continue to stick to its classification of osteoporosis as a chronic disease.
The reason is actually pretty simple. If the Medical Establishment, including Big Pharma, can convince the public (and doctors) that osteoporosis is a chronic disease, then they can convince their “patients” to take prescription drugs. Of course, drugs don’t “cure” any disease; they simply cover-up symptoms, and in the case of osteoporosis drugs, can actually make the condition much worse. But drugs do line Big Pharma’s pockets with big profits.
Clearly, there’s big money in convincing people they have a chronic disease.
Here is the definition of osteoporosis as found in the Save Our Bones Program:
“A condition of the skeletal system, common in middle aged and older individuals, mainly caused by the body’s attempt to correct an unhealthy biochemical imbalance by utilizing the calcium that should normally remain in the bones, causing bone density loss.”
So the first step is to take ownership not of a disease state, but of your health. Then you can move forward with the dietary and simple lifestyle changes (as described in the Program) that restore a bone-healthy biochemical balance.
Big Pharma is failing miserably in its quest to reverse osteoporosis with newer and “better” drugs. The fact is, it is possible to reverse osteoporosis without dangerous drugs, as many Savers from around the world have experienced. And unlike the drugs, it’s 100% safe.
Letting go of the notion that you’ve been diagnosed with a debilitating disease is very uplifting and encouraging. And that’s a fantastic first step toward improving your overall health and the condition of your bones.
As I mentioned above, the Save Our Bones Program is 100% safe. It’s all scientifically-backed, so you can rest assured that the information and protocol are based on sound science. In 15 clearly-written chapters with over 200 scientific references, the Save Our Bones Program promotes a bone health-centered lifestyle, nutritional, and exercise program to reverse osteoporosis and rejuvenate bones.
But the Program does more than guide you along the path to better bone health without medications. It goes to great lengths to point out the deceptions of the Establishment so that you will be fully informed.
For example, the Doctor Dialogues, one of the supplemental reports included with the Program, is especially helpful in providing suggestions for talking with your doctor about your decision to tackle osteoporosis without drugs.
Armed with knowledge, you’ll have the courage to stay firm in your convictions and beliefs. You’ll have peace of mind and the confidence that comes from “disowning” the disease. These are benefits to the Program that go far beyond (yet tie into) the healthful effects on your bones and body.
The Save Our Bones Program addresses all aspects of health – physical, mental, and emotional – leaving no stone unturned in the battle against osteoporosis.
Isn’t it wonderful to know you’re not “sick”? I know this realization gave me a much-needed boost when I got my osteoporosis diagnosis. My hope is that it will do the same for you.
Till next time,
