Gaining a toehold and then a foothold in the world of medicine has, to put it mildly, been quite a struggle for podiatric medicine.

But, thanks to the dedicated foot doctors that made this possible podiatry continues to grow in leaps and bounds. Podiatry's rapid growth is fueled in part by the world's aging population and the increased incidence of diabetes, kidney failure and obesity but also because more and more people are participating in sport and fitness than ever before.
